CPQ User Management

User management for CPQ is handled within Good Sign Billing. User rights and roles assigned in Good Sign Billing automatically carry over to Good Sign CPQ, ensuring a seamless experience across both platforms.

CPQ User Group Overview

The CPQ Admin tool is designed to streamline the sales process by managing quotes, pricing, and product configurations. It includes three main user groups:

  • Admins: These users have full access to the CPQ Admin tool. They can create and manage quotes, configure products, set pricing rules, and handle user access management. Admins ensure that all relevant products and services are correctly configured, priced, and quoted, maintaining consistency and accuracy across the sales process.

  • Salespeople: These users primarily use the CPQ tool to create quotes and manage customer relationships. They benefit from the tool’s ability to accelerate sales cycles by automating quote creation and approvals, reducing delays, and allowing them to focus on closing deals.

  • Users: This group includes other roles that interact with the CPQ tool, such as customer success representatives. They use the tool to generate quotes and proposals, ensuring that the sales process remains efficient and accurate.

Adding and Removing Users

Users in Good Sign Billing can be added manually or removed when necessary. It is important to verify that a user does not already exist before creating a new one. Creating a user is a prerequisite for assigning login credentials, which must be done separately.

For detailed steps on how to add, manage, and remove users, refer to the guide:

Managing User Rights

User rights determine the level of access a user has within Good Sign Billing. User rights can be assigned individually or managed through user right profiles.

For instructions on how to manage user rights and user right profiles, refer to the guide:

Properly configuring user rights ensures that users have the appropriate permissions needed for their roles while maintaining security and compliance within the system.

Required User Rights for CPQ Tool Access

Salespeople and users need access to create and manage quotes but do not require administrative permissions.

  • 6001    Public API

  • 6090    GS API - CPQ

Required User Rights for CPQ Admin Access

Admins require full CPQ access, including the ability to manage user permissions, configure pricing rules, and create/edit quotes.

  • 3270    Menu - CPQ Forms
  • 3271    Menu - CPQ Quote Create Form
  • 3275    Menu - CPQ Admin settings

API Access and User Rights

API access is governed by the same user rights applied in Good Sign Billing. This ensures that:

  • Only authorized users can generate API tokens or make API calls.

  • API access is restricted based on the assigned role (e.g., Admins can modify pricing and configurations, while Salespeople can only retrieve quote data).

  • Authentication for API requests follows the same structure as CPQ authentication.
